Solidarity That Crosses Borders
Energizers from Viakable, Qualtia, BYDSA, Voltway, and XIGNUX Corporativo raised funds to support the humanitarian response to the earthquakes that struck Venezuela.
When an emergency crosses borders, solidarity can too.
Employees from Viakable, Qualtia, BYDSA, Voltway, and XIGNUX Corporativo participated in an initiative to support those affected by the earthquakes that struck Venezuela on June 24, 2026.
The two earthquakes, measuring 7.2 and 7.5 on the Richter scale, occurred just seconds apart and primarily affected the coastal state of La Guaira and the Greater Caracas area. The collapse of buildings, damage to essential services, combined with the number of displaced families prompted a large-scale mobilization of Venezuelan and international relief teams.
In response to this situation, employees of XIGNUX companies pooled their contributions to support relief efforts. Through the XIGNUX Foundation, the funds raised were supplemented with an additional donation, which allowed for the scope of the aid to be expanded.
A Specialized Response
The initiative joined the efforts of the Mexican Red Cross, which deployed a team to Venezuela specializing in search and rescue in collapsed structures.
The mission consisted of 15 specialists in rescue, pre-hospital care, and equipment management, accompanied by four certified canine teams: Balam, Orly, Kenai, and Halley.
The Mexican teams worked primarily in La Guaira, in coordination with Venezuelan rescue workers and delegations from other countries. Over the course of more than 100 hours of work, they participated in the search for people in the rubble and provided support to affected families.
Their intervention was part of a broader humanitarian response led by the Venezuelan Red Cross and supported by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, which issued an emergency appeal to assist 300,000 people.
The Power of Working Together
The involvement of the “energizers” helped turn small individual contributions into a collective effort. It also brought together, around a common cause, employees from different XIGNUX companies.
In emergency situations, a rapid response is crucial, but so are coordination and the ability to channel resources through organizations with on-the-ground experience. Collaboration with the Mexican Red Cross allowed us to direct support toward a specialized operation focused on the most urgent needs.
Regardless of the distance, the initiative represented a concrete way to stand with those who faced loss, displacement, and uncertainty in the wake of the disaster.
The aid collected by the energizers could not, on its own, repair all the damage caused by the earthquakes. It could, however, join thousands of other efforts and help ensure that specialists, rescue workers, and volunteers could continue their work.
In an emergency of this magnitude, every contribution counts. Together, they can become equipment, care, and hope for those who need it most.
