Half a Century of Power Transmission
Conductores del Norte celebrated 50 years of industrial experience with an event that brought together power industry professionals, leaders, and special guests at its plant in El Carmen, Nuevo León.
In 1976, Conductores del Norte began operations in El Carmen, Nuevo León, with the goal of manufacturing solutions to deliver power safely and reliably. Five decades later, its expertise is an integral part of the industrial capacity with which Viakable meets the needs of the electric power sector.
The company commemorated its first 50 years with an event attended by power industry professionals, executives, and special guests. The celebration provided an opportunity to reflect on the journey taken, as well as to recognize the people who have made it possible to keep the plant in operation and constantly evolving for half a century.
During the event, Carlos Ramos, CEO of Viakable, and Alejandro Gil, general manager of Conductores del Norte, highlighted the company’s evolution and the contribution of its employees to each stage of its development.
Experience Passed Down
Conductores del Norte manufactures low and medium voltage electrical conductors for various applications. Its processes are supported by management systems and national and international certifications related to quality, environmental stewardship, and workplace safety.
However, behind every cable lies a body of knowledge that cannot be acquired solely through machinery or technology. It develops over the years, is strengthened by overcoming challenges, and is passed down through generations of energizers.
The company’s history is intertwined with the people who have learned a trade, perfected a process, or shared their experience with those who joined later. Some have dedicated a significant portion of their working lives to the plant, others represent a new generation that will be responsible for keeping that knowledge alive.
As part of the celebration, attendees took a tour of the facilities. The visit provided an opportunity to observe the production processes and appreciate the day-to-day work that sustains operations: from the processing of raw materials to the tests that ensure compliance with the technical specifications of each product.
A Legacy with an Eye Toward the Future
Turning 50 doesn’t mean the story is over. For Conductores del Norte, this anniversary also marks a new beginning in the face of the changes the electric power industry is undergoing.
The modernization of infrastructure, growing energy demand and the adoption of new technologies present challenges related to production capacity, innovation, quality, and talent development. In this context, the company’s accumulated experience serves as a foundation for addressing new needs.
