Xignux announced that it will invest 5.9 million dollars in the construction of a plant for its company Multipak, part of Viakable, which manufactures wooden packaging components for the cable industry and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). The investment in the new plant will add 12% of new jobs to Multipak’s existing Durango operation, which currently employs 295 people.
The governor of Durango, Dr. Esteban Villegas Villarreal, emphasized that “the state has everything necessary to attract large companies, such as water, electricity, security and skilled labor”.
For his part, Oscar de J. Martínez, director of Xignux Corporate Development, stated that Xignux’s presence in Durango dates back to 1974. “We are excited to make an investment that will generate new jobs and allow us to grow our production capacity and optimize our processes to offer better solutions to our customers. We have a long-term commitment to the development of Durango and Mexico.”

The new plant will be 12,000 square meters in size at the Durango Logistics and Industrial Center located on the Durango-Torreón Highway, km 6.5 SN, ejido 27 de Noviembre, and is expected to start up during the last quarter of 2024.
