Iconic Conchitas Encanto begin production with the “Hecho en Nuevo León” seal

  • The traditional regional snack proudly carries, for the first time, the distinction certifying its quality and local origin.
  • The new packaging underscores BYDSA’s commitment to Nuevo León’s economy and to consumers who value authentic products.

Guadalupe, Nuevo León, August 25, 2025 – Conchitas Encanto, the emblematic snack from Monterrey’s metropolitan area, crafted since 1957, announced today the start of production of its special edition packaging featuring the “Hecho en Nuevo León” seal, a distinction that recognizes the quality and origin of local products.

The kick-off event at BYDSA’s Monterrey plant was attended by company executives and Betsabé Rocha Nieto, Secretary of Economy and champion of the free state program that grants this certification. The Hecho en Nuevo León seal strengthens local businesses by opening new market opportunities and building greater trust among consumers and distributors.

“Conchitas are more than just a snack—they are a symbol of our Monterrey identity. The Hecho en Nuevo León seal fills us with pride and strengthens our commitment to keep innovating while preserving the tradition that has kept us relevant for more than six decades,” said Jesús González, BYDSA’s Director.

“Our goal with the Hecho en Nuevo León program is to support businesses and entrepreneurs so their products earn recognition and expand into new markets. Conchitas are a great example of how a local brand can grow into a national benchmark,” added Betsabé Rocha Nieto, Secretary of Economy of Nuevo León.

First created in 1957 in a small tortilla shop near the Encanto movie theater in Monterrey, Conchitas have stood out for their unique flavor and texture unlike any other snack on the market.

In recent years, the brand has introduced new varieties such as Conchitas Granielote, Conchitas Piccas, Conchitas Mix, and Conchitas Pa’l Snack, appealing to younger generations while preserving its strong regional relevance.

Its staying power with consumers comes from a balance of tradition and innovation:

  • Unique flavors that pair perfectly with other ingredients, transforming every Conchitas moment into a one-of-a-kind snack experience.
  • Innovative presentations, with practical and eye-catching packaging for every occasion.
  • Brand activations and campaigns that celebrate its local and cultural identity.

The new packaging with the Hecho en Nuevo León seal reinforces its positioning as a proudly Monterrey-born product.

Conchitas are the top-selling product in Encanto’s portfolio in Nuevo León, representing about 30% of the company’s total sales in the state. They help generate hundreds of direct and indirect jobs and contribute to the region’s economic development. Looking ahead, Conchitas Encanto aims to consolidate its position as a national leader in traditional fried snacks. Future plans include new varieties, digital marketing campaigns, and expansion into more states—and potentially international markets.
