León, Guanajuato, August 28, 2024 – Botanas y Derivados, S. A. de C. V. (BYDSA), a Xignux company, announced today the inauguration of Phase II of its BYDSA plant in León, with the addition of a new potato production line.
In the presence of the Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodrguez Vallejo, Juan Ignacio Garza Herrera, CEO of Xignux, indicated that this project has represented an investment of more than 28 million dollars in the facility. This has resulted in the creation of 500 jobs, and announced that in the next five years it will continue to invest another 12 million dollars in production and distribution capacity. With this, it expects to create another 500 additional jobs in the region.
With this expansion, BYDSA plans to triple its production capacity and strengthen its competitive position in the snack sector in Mexico.
The new production line will use potatoes grown in Mexico, replacing imports from the United States, which reaffirms BYDSA’s commitment to the use of Mexican inputs, supporting the local agricultural economy.
This initiative is part of BYDSA’s vision to continue growing and evolving to bring the flavor of its snacks to more corners of Mexico.
