VIAKABLE BEGINS CONSTRUCTION OF NEW MULTIPAK PLANT IN DURANGO

Viakable invests over $7 million in its new Multipak plant in Durango.
This facility is projected to increase reel and pallet production by an additional 30% compared to the existing plant.
It is expected to generate more than 300 jobs and begin production by the end of this year.

Durango, Durango, January 30, 2024 – Viakable, a Xignux company, is investing over $7 million in the construction of its new Multipak plant in Durango, dedicated to manufacturing reels and pallets. During the event, Juan Ignacio Garza Herrera, CEO of Xignux, stated: “With the new Multipak plant in Durango, we will increase reel and pallet production by 30%, creating more than 300 direct and indirect jobs. This initiative reinforces our commitment to the development of Durango and Mexico.” Dr. Esteban Villegas Villarreal, Governor of Durango, praised the continued investment of companies like Xignux and Viakable in the state, saying: “We are proud to see your trust in our state. We will continue creating favorable conditions for more companies to see Durango as a promising place for growth. The new plant is located in the Durango Industrial Logistics Center, covering over five hectares. Operations are anticipated to begin by late 2024. The new Multipak facility will operate with the highest standards in labor, environmental and safety practices. Multipak’s commitment to the environment is further strengthened as its Aserradero plant processes wood from forests certified by international organizations, promoting sustainable forest management.
