With the participation of 42 energetic volunteers, we collected 715 kg of waste from Tijuana’s beaches to protect the ecosystem and promote environmental awareness.
On Sunday, August 10, the team of volunteers from the Sales, Production, and Administration departments at the Tijuana Plant, along with their families, participated in a beach cleanup day in this city. With this initiative, we seek to protect the coastal ecosystem, promote environmental awareness, and strengthen teamwork.
We began the day at 8:00 a.m. by handing out gloves, materials, and safety recommendations. Participants divided into groups to cover different areas of the beach and collected 715 kilograms of waste that would otherwise have affected marine fauna and flora.
During the event, Ricardo Mijares, Director of Human Resources at BYDSA, was present to thank the volunteers for their participation and reiterate the importance of this type of action for the community. At the end of the activity, we recognized the three people who collected the most: José Fidel Cervantes (first place, 110 kilos), Alejandra Félix (second place, 99 kilos), and Hilda García (third place, 70 kilos).
The event ended at 12:00 p.m. with an open invitation to maintain our commitment to beach conservation. With this initiative, we reaffirm our social responsibility and the participation of our energizers in preserving the environment.
