XIGNUX brings together more than 2,000 runners in Monterrey to celebrate its 70th anniversary

Health, family, and sustainability define XIGNUX’s 70th anniversary race at Parque Fundidora.

Monterrey, Nuevo León, México — April 20, 2026 — XIGNUX, a Mexican holding company and leader in the energy and food sectors, held its 2026 Race as part of its 70th anniversary celebrations, under a responsible management approach focused on environmental care and sustainability. The event brought together more than 2,000 participants—including employees, family members, and friends—in its third edition, held on Sunday, April 19, at Parque Fundidora.

The event incorporated concrete measures to reduce waste and promote the efficient use of materials. In this regard, approximately 2,000 Tetra Pak–type containers recovered from operations were repurposed, and more than 2,000 medals made from biodegradable materials were awarded.

As part of these efforts, an estimated 2,000 plastic bottles and 2,000 energy drink containers were collected and sorted—along with their caps—for proper disposal and recycling. Organic waste, such as banana and orange peels from refreshment kits, as well as cardboard, was also collected and directed to composting and recycling processes.

In compliance with Parque Fundidora regulations, designated containers were provided for participants to dispose of leftover beverages, preventing spillage in green areas and contributing to environmental preservation.

Additionally, for the first time, the event featured the participation of Grupo PROMESA and Cíclica, specialized organizations that coordinated proper waste management and recycling efforts, as well as environmental awareness activities among attendees. Part of the recovered materials was allocated to social causes: multilayer containers were used to build roofs, and plastic caps were donated to support initiatives benefiting children with cancer.

As part of the event’s activities, Fundación XIGNUX partnered with Destellos de Luz to deliver a sensory experience designed to encourage reflection on and appreciation of the sense of sight. Destellos de Luz is one of nearly 80 civil nonprofit organizations supported by the Foundation.

The race included 1K, 5K, and 10K distances and was complemented by recreational and wellness activities, as well as family-friendly spaces for children. Hydration and food stations were also available for participants.

Winners in each category were recognized with commemorative awards as part of the broader 70th anniversary celebrations, aimed at promoting well-being, community engagement, and environmental responsibility.

Viakable Unveils Community Mural as a Symbol of Closeness to Neighboring Communities

San Nicolás de los Garza, N.L., December 16, 2025.- Viakable, a Xignux company and a leader in the manufacturing and distribution of electrical conductors, today unveiled a community mural on one of the perimeter walls of its founding plant on Conductores Avenue in San Nicolás de los Garza, Nuevo León. The initiative is part of the company’s commitment to strengthening close relationships, dialogue, and collaboration with the communities near its operations.

Created by local artist Arianna Cavazos of Colectivo Tomate, in collaboration with area residents and company employees, the mural seeks to transform a visible industrial space into a symbolic gathering point that reflects identity, participation, and a sense of belonging. Through community art, the company reaffirms its vision of building relationships grounded in respect, collaboration, and mutual benefit.

During the unveiling ceremony, local authorities, neighbors, and Viakable employees attended the presentation of the artwork, which represents shared values such as community, diversity, coexistence, and pride in the local environment.

“This mural we are unveiling today is part of a community corridor adjacent to our operations, where we have undertaken urban revitalization efforts to provide the city a renewed public space,”

Murga added that over the past two years, 98 trees have been planted along this community corridor as part of Viakable’s reforestation plan.

Xignux Foundation Hosts Fourth Annual “Gamer con Causa” Tournament

Winners directed tournament donations to Comenzar de Nuevo, Asociación Mexicana de Diabetes, Hogar Ortigosa y a Vida y Familia de Monterrey.

Monterrey, N.L., November 25, 2025. — Xignux Foundation, in collaboration with universities across Nuevo León and with the support of Xignux and its business units, hosted the fourth edition of the Gamer con Causa Tournament—an initiative that channels the talent of young gamers to benefit local civil society organizations.

Kicking off the final stage, Marcela Garza Herrera, President of Xignux Foundation, noted: “Gamer con Causa is more than a tournament that highlights gaming skills; it is a platform that supports civil society organizations that submit projects focused on nutrition and that create meaningful community impact. The tournament showcases the empathy of young gamers and their willingness to contribute to the extraordinary work being done in our community. It also reflects their commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals—Zero Hunger and Good Health and Well-Being.”

This year, 34 students from Universidad de Monterrey, Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, Tecnológico de Monterrey, Universidad Tecmilenio, and Universidad UERRE competed in the student division.

In the Energizer division, 72 participants from Viakable, Prolec, Qualtia, BYDSA, and Xignux Corporate Headquarters took part in the competition. All participants showcased their skills in Mario Kart.

The tournament consisted of two phases. In the virtual qualifying round, held on November 12, 13, and 15, twelve finalists were selected (six students and six Energizers). In the final round, held on November 23, each finalist represented a nonprofit organization in a live, in-person competition.Winners of the Fourth “Gamer con Causa” Tournament

1st Place – Mario Alexis Leal Renagel (UANL) – Awarded a MXN 100,000 donation to Comenzar de Nuevo A.C., an organization dedicated to the prevention, education, and treatment of eating disorders and other mental health challenges.
2nd Place – Diego Anaya Hernández (Tecnológico de Monterrey) – Awarded a MXN 40,000 donation to Hogar Ortigosa A.B.P., which provides values-based comprehensive education for children and young people to help them become competent and socially responsible individuals.

Energizer Category

1st Place – Glen Gilberto Bedoy Varela (BYDSA) – Awarded a MXN 100,000 donation to the Mexican Diabetes Association of Nuevo León, which offers medical guidance and support to low-income individuals living with diabetes and their families.

2nd Place – Dante Alejandro Reyna Cortez (Viakable) – Awarded a MXN 40,000 donation to Vida y Familia de Monterrey A.B.P. (VIFAC), an organization that provides comprehensive care and support for women, children, and adolescents in vulnerable situations.

Beyond supporting civil society organizations, winners received a monetary award deposited into a digital wallet.

Monterrey, N. L.; October 21, 2025. Xignux and GE Vernova (NYSE: GEV) today announced that GE Vernova will acquire the remaining fifty percent stake of Prolec GE joint venture, a company both firms have built together as long-standing partners for more than three decades.

This strategic agreement responds to Xignux´s 2030 Vision and will allow the company to focus attention and resources on the energy and food sectors, where it maintains a leadership position, sees strong growth potential and value creation for its customers, communities, and employees.

The deal will accelerate GE Vernova’s Electrification segment’s growth trajectory, the company’s fastest-growing segment, by expanding its presence in and support for North America, where demand for grid technologies is rising rapidly.

This acquisition expands GE Vernova’s capability to serve both North American and global customers, at a time in which these markets are experiencing rapid electricity demand growth, driven in part by the growth of data centers and new policies implemented to expand the deployment of critical grid and electrification equipment.

Prolec GE is a leading grid equipment supplier, producing transformers across most ratings and voltages with approximately 10,000 global employees across seven manufacturing sites globally, including five in the U.S. The joint venture was originally established between Xignux and General Electric (GE) in 1995, and this acquisition consolidates Prolec GE after 30 years of partnership.

Recent Prolec GE capacity expansion and innovation investments exceed $300 million in the U.S. and Mexico, including a recently announced $140 million investment and the creation of hundreds of new jobs over the next three years.

Under the purchase agreement, GE Vernova will pay $5.275 billion at closing, expected to be funded equally between cash and debt. The acquisition is expected to close by mid-2026, subject to the completion of customary regulatory approvals.

Magnekon Plant 2, a Viakable Subsidiary, earns Clean Industry Certification

Only three companies in Nuevo León were awarded this recognition in the past year.

San Nicolás de los Garza, México – September 24, 2025.- Viakable, a Xignux company specializing in the production of electrical conductors, announced that its subsidiary Magnekon Plant 2 was awarded the Certificación de Industria Limpia (Clean Industry Certification) by the Federal Environmental Protection Agency (Profepa), as part of México’s National Environmental Audit Program.

The certification is the result of a voluntary audit that evaluated the plant’s processes and operations to verify compliance with current environmental regulations. This recognition attests to the plant’s alignment with standards related to resource management, risk prevention, and continuous improvement in environmental performance.

According to Profepa, only three companies in Nuevo León earned this certification over the past year, including Viakable’s Magnekon Plant 2.

“This certification not only demonstrates strict compliance with current regulations but also reflects our strong commitment to embedding sustainability into every decision and process—strengthening an organizational culture dedicated to protecting the planet,”, said Carlos Ramos Espinosa, CEO of Viakable.

The Clean Industry Certification is granted to companies that demonstrate effective control of their environmental impact and compliance with the standards established under national law.

Viakable inaugurates Macro Hub Norte in San Nicolás de los Garza

At 12,000 square meters, it is Viakable’s largest logistics center in México.

San Nicolás de los Garza, México – September 18, 2025. Viakable, a Xignux company specializing in the production of electrical conductors, held the inauguration of its new Macro Hub Norte distribution center—an essential piece of infrastructure designed to consolidate Viakable’s logistics operations and enhance service across the diverse markets it serves.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Juan Ignacio Garza Herrera, CEO of Xignux; Carlos Ramos, CEO of Viakable; and Arturo Garza, Supply Chain Director at Viakable.

“This new logistics center will allow us to move faster, operate more efficiently, and serve our customers better—all aligned with our long-term vision,” said Juan Ignacio Garza Herrera.

“Our Macro Hub, located near our plant in San Nicolás, was created to centralize the complex logistics of our operations, helping us simplify and improve the way we run our business,” added Carlos Ramos.

For his part, Arturo Garza added: “We are here to inaugurate Macro Hub Norte, a project that represents much more than a new facility—it marks the evolution of our supply chain into a true value chain.”

The new facility will employ more than 50 Viakable team members in safe, modern workspaces equipped with state-of-the-art technology and digital systems, including a Warehouse Management System (WMS) that will enable standardized processes and pave the way for future automation.

Macro Hub Norte was also designed with sustainability in mind, featuring natural lighting, LED technology for energy efficiency, and electric forklifts—all aligned with the sustainability agenda of Viakable and Xignux.
