Leaders from GE Vernova and Xignux toured plants in Mexico and the US as part of the upcoming Prolec integration.

Prolec welcomed a visit from the management team of GE Vernova and Xignux, who toured Campuses I and III in Monterrey, Mexico, as well as the plants in Shreveport, Goldsboro, and Waukesha in the United States.

The delegation was led by Scott Strazik, CEO of GE Vernova, accompanied by global leaders from strategic areas. Representing Xignux were Juan Ignacio Garza Herrera, CEO; Oscar de J. Martínez, Director of Corporate Development; and Angel De Soto, Director of Finance and Corporate Administration.

Ricardo Suárez, CEO of Prolec, along with his management team, served as host and guided the tours of the facilities, sharing details about our processes and production lines.

During the visits, talks were held with administrative staff, in which Ricardo Suárez highlighted that Prolec is on the threshold of a new era, with renewed objectives that will drive its growth and transformation.

“We will continue to build our history and achieve great results thanks to the commitment of each and every one of you,” he said.

Juan Ignacio Garza Herrera thanked Ricardo for his leadership, as well as the management team, and recalled that, over more than three decades, this alliance between Xignux and GE Vernova has demonstrated what discipline, talent, and vision can achieve.

“What began as a dream is now a success story that was achieved thanks to the commitment and talent of all of you… Prolec is ready to transcend borders,” said Scott Strazik, CEO of GE Vernova. He emphasized that the main focus will be on driving business growth and strengthening collaboration with Prolec.

He also noted that this investment in Prolec is the first and largest GE Vernova has made since the spin-off from GE, reflecting its commitment to this partnership. “It’s another chapter in a book we are committed to continuing to write together,” he added.

He also said that next year will be key for integration: “We will spend a lot of time together, and Monterrey will become one of our largest global locations overnight once the transaction closes.”

Finally, Scott answered some questions from our employees.

These visits served several purposes, including sharing the vision for the future with the teams, motivating them to continue building on the success story they have written so far, strengthening the strategic collaboration required during the integration of both companies, and, of course, getting to know the plants better, including Celeco, which was not part of the JV that has existed for 30 years.

The visit reaffirmed the mutual trust between GE Vernova and Prolec, marking the beginning of a new stage of joint growth.

More than 60 energizers joined together for a reforestation day in the Los Morales neighborhood of San Nicolás de los Garza, Nuevo León, where we planted more than 120 trees in Las Torres Linear Park.

In conjunction with Ecopil, a civil association dedicated to the development of environmental management projects, we received brief training on the anacahuita and evergreen oak, native species of Nuevo León that we would plant during the day.

The activity was attended by Alfonso Guerrero, Director of Human Resources; Mara Izaguirre, Director of Administration and Finance; and Jorge Lozano, Director of Institutional Relations, as well as family members, friends, and neighbors from the neighborhood.

We are grateful to all our volunteers, whose support made it possible to benefit more than 360 people, in addition to contributing to the recovery of green areas and strengthening our community.

At the Ready Foods Escobedo plant, we received ISO 22000 (Food Safety System Certification 22000) management system certification for the first time, thereby strengthening our alliance with strategic customers.

This system has been in operation at Ready Foods plants since 2018, in compliance with the requirements to be an authorized supplier of ready-to-eat or assembled products (sandwiches, tortas, baguettes, croissants, burritos, taquitos, pizza, and salads).

With this accreditation, there are now six Ready Foods plants certified by Global Standards, an entity that conducts certification audits endorsed by internationally recognized accreditation bodies such as EMA, ANAB, ANSI-ASQ, Global GAP, Primus GFS, SQF, and the FSSC 22000 Foundation, among others.

We celebrated this achievement with a special ceremony, the result of the effort and dedication of the plant operations team, led by Alejandro Martínez, operations manager; Dulce Karina de León, Escobedo plant manager; and Carlos Alvarado, quality coordinator.

This recognition reflects our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety, as established in our Comprehensive Safety Policy.

ISO 22000 certification represents another step forward on our path to operational excellence, consolidating Qualtia’s position as a benchmark in food quality and safety.

With our reforestation activities, we have now contributed to the conservation of Chipinque Ecological Park, a key nature reserve for the Monterrey metropolitan area, for five years.

On this occasion, we carried out two reforestation projects, in which participants planted trees, attended awareness-raising talks, and shared experiences in this iconic natural environment.

We also celebrated a very special moment: by planting 200 native pine trees per year, we reached the 1,000th tree, a symbol of the ongoing collaboration between Xignux and Chipinque in favor of the environment.

With actions like this, at Xignux we reaffirm our commitment to sustainability and the protection of natural spaces, which strengthens our purpose of energizing life and society.

We celebrate the commitment and dedication of 404 energizers, who have completed 25, 30, 35, 40, and 45 years of service at Viakable, Prolec, Qualtia, BYDSA, and Corporate.

During the Xignux 2025 Loyalty Ceremony, Juan Ignacio Garza Herrera, our CEO, said:

Our CEO was accompanied by the Xignux management team, members of the companies’ operating committees, union representatives, as well as family members of the honorees and special guests.

The ceremony then included the presentation of awards to our honorees and concluded with a dinner offered to all of them and their guests.

At the Xignux Auditorium, visitors enjoyed conferences, presentations, and talks on innovation, science, and sustainability. Among them, the keynote conference held on Monday, October 13, stood out with the attendance of 250 young participants.

The event began with welcome and thank-you remarks from Carmen Junco, President of the Monterrey International Book Fair, followed by opening words from Ana Lilia Fernández Veloquio, Director of Corporate Communication and Social Responsibility at Xignux.

Afterward, Rosilena Lindo Riggs, Secretary of Energy of Panama, delivered a conference where she shared her experience and insights on the role of energy in sustainable development and the education of new generations.

Our participation will continue with the panel “The Future of Education: NGOs United for Social Transformation”. It will be held on October 14 at the Arca Continental Auditorium. This session will feature Dalila Núñez, Head of Fundación Xignux, along with representatives from other leading foundations, to discuss the role of education as a driver of social change.
